WASHINGTON (JTA) — President Obama extended the allowance for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Washington office.

A law banning PLO representation as a terrorist organization was passed in 1987, but since the launch of the Oslo peace process in 1993 presidents have routinely exercised their right to waive the ban for six-month periods.

This marks the second time Obama has done so since taking office.
