WASHINGTON (JTA) — An El Al plane made an emergency landing in Turkey after one of its engines malfunctioned.
The Boeing 737 flight from Bucharest to Israel landed safely in Istanbul on Friday as rescue and fire-fighting teams stood by if needed, according to media reports. An El Al spokesman said the plane will be repaired and returned to Israel.
Ynet quoted a passenger as saying that the passengers were in a hotel waiting for an alternative plane to arrive.
