JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli police dismantled two outposts near Hebron.

The evacuation took place Tuesday night, but activists from the Land of Israel Faithful and the Youth for the Land of Israel told Ynet Wednesday that they had returned to the sites to rebuild them.

One of the outposts, Mitzpe Avihai, had been established several months ago with a tin shack housing one family, but activists added a second shack Tuesday as part of efforts to start new and expand existing settlements during U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell’s visit.

The second outpost, Zur-ya, was established Tuesday.
