JERUSALEM (JTA) — Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, started basic training in the Israeli military.
The prime minister and his wife saw Yair, 18, off at a military induction center in Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Following basic training, he is set to join the spokesman’s office of the Israel Defense Forces.
Yair Netanyahu will serve the mandatory three years and will be the only recruit with a bodyguard.
