JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Kassam rocket fired from Gaza landed in the backyard of a Sderot home, injuring a woman.
The rocket fired Tuesday evening also damaged the home and several nearby buildings. The injured woman was treated for shrapnel wounds and several others were treated for shock, Ha’aretz reported.
It was the first rocket to hit Israel in a week.
The attack came as the mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno, was touring Sderot with Noam Shalit, the father of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit
Palestinians reported an airstrike in southern Gaza Tuesday night, according to Reuters. The Israel Defense Forces did not confirm the attack.
