WASHINGTON (JTA) — A top Jewish outreach official in the Barack Obama presidential campaign is now working at the State Department.
Eric Lynn is senior policy adviser and director of legislative affairs to special envoys at the State Department, Politico reported Monday. He will be working with all three special envoys that have been named: Middle East envoy George Mitchell, Afghanistan and Pakistan envoy Richard Holbrooke and West Asia & the Gulf special envoy Dennis Ross.
Lynn joined the Obama campaign in July 2007 to work on Jewish and Middle East issues. He had been a senior legislative assistant to former U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch (D-Fla.) and an associate at the top Washington law firm of Patton Boggs.
