JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli human rights organization released a video of a Palestinian protest at the West Bank security fence in which a protester was killed.
Officials from the Israel Defense Forces said they used tear gas and stun grenades to stop the protestors from throwing stones during the protest in the West Bank town of Bil’in. But a video released Sunday by the B’Tselem human rights organization show the protesters yelling at the soldiers but not throwing stones.
Bassem Abu Rahmeh, 31, died last Friday after being hit in the chest by a tear gas canister during the protest. The security barrier runs through the middle of the town.
The soldiers continued their firing after Abu Rahmeh was struck.
