JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli security forces arrested three Palestinians planning a pipe bomb attack.
The men were arrested early Wednesday morning near Nablus while carrying a pipe bomb, weapons and a detailed map of the area, according to reports.
The Palestinians admitted they were planning to carry out an attack on Israeli soldiers, the Israel Defense Forces said. They were captured when soldiers identified them following a Molotov cocktail attack on an Israeli car near the West Bank settlement of Elon Moreh.
The averted attack comes a month after two Palestinians were caught in the same area carrying weapons and Molotov cocktails, and less than two weeks after two police officers were killed in a shooting attack in the Jordan Valley.
