JERUSALEM (JTA) — The United Arab Emirates denied a visa to the chairman of Israel’s International Chamber of Commerce.

Sarah Younger was denied a visa for a global bank conference scheduled to begin Monday in Dubai. Younger, the manager of Bank Leumi’s international trade section, was invited to the conference as the Chamber of Commerce’s Israel representative, Ynet reported.

Some 50 participants were not able to get entry visas for the conference, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The ICC is based in Paris and has branches in 140 countries. Over the weekend it adopted a recommendation not to allow any of its future conferences to take place in countries that will refuse the entrance of representatives of any of its member countries, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The visa flap comes several weeks after the UAE denied a visa to an Israeli tennis player for its Dubai tournament.
