JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Hezbollah terror attack against an Israeli target in Europe was prevented, according to reports.
Israel’s Channel 2 quoted security officials Wednesday as saying a large-scale attack had been planned for an unnamed country in Europe.
The planned attack was to be a revenge attack for the Feb. 28 assassination of Hezbollah military commander Imad Mughniyeh. Israel has never claimed responsibility for the hit.
Israeli security services have been on a higher level of alert since last week for possible revenge attacks ahead of the first anniversary of the terrorist’s death.
