JERUSALEM (JTA) — Jewish activists chained themselves outside the Israeli consulate in Los Angeles.
Up to 10 protesters, demanding an end to Israel’s operation in Gaza, chained themselves to the front steps of the building Wednesday morning. About 40 others blocked the driveway of the consulate on Wilshire Boulevard or walked in front of the building chanting and carrying signs. One sign read, "The Israeli consulate has been closed for war crimes," The Los Angeles Times reported.
The demonstrators were part of an organization called the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, which planned the protest. The consulate is on the 17th floor of an office building that is home to numerous businesses.
The protest lasted about three hours. No arrests were made.
