A Palestinian woman again threw acid in the face of a soldier at a West Bank checkpoint.
Monday’s incident is the second time in two weeks that the same woman has sent an Israeli soldier guarding the Hawara checkpoint near Nablus to the hospital. The soldier has lost his sight in one eye, Ynet reported.
About two weeks ago the same woman entered the humanitarian aid lane at the checkpoint, which is there for emergencies and does not have a security check, and threw acid in the face of a soldier before fleeing into Nablus. This time she was captured, arrested and taken in for questioning.
Soldiers have been more lenient on Palestinians at West Bank checkpoints in honor of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
