Police arrested two Israeli Arab students accused of being involved in plots to kill Israeli pilots and scientists.
The arrests were made in early August but became public Thursday after a gag order was lifted.
The two Israeli Arabs, from the Galilee town of Shfaram, are believed to be members of a Ramallah-based Islamic Jihad cell that planned to kill Israeli pilots, scientists and public figures. The cell stockpiled weapons, held training exercises and was preparing a major attack on an IDF checkpoint.
Anis Saffouri, 20, is a communications student at Bir Zeit University in Ramallah, and Hussam Khalil, 19, is an electronic engineering student in Jordan.
The two are scheduled to be indicted next week.
