Israeli windsurfer Shahar Zubari took the early lead in the RS:X men’s sailboarding at the Beijing Olympics.
Zubari won the first race Monday and finished third in the second in an event making its Olympic debut. The series features 20 races in Qingdao.
Among other Israeli competitors, women’s windsurfer Ma’ayan Davidovich stood in 10th place among 27 competitors after two rounds. She finished 13th in the first round on Sunday and ninth on Monday.
The sailing duo of Udi Gal and Gideon Kliger were in 15th after two races: The pair, expected to compete for a medal, finished 13th and 16th in their two races.
