Two Hamas gunmen were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip.
Israeli military aircraft fired at least one missile at a group of armed Palestinians in Rafah early Wednesday, killing two and wounding several others. Hamas claimed the casualties as its own.
Military officials said the attack targeted the terrorist infrastructure in the area but did not immediately elaborate.
Israeli forces regularly mount operations against armed Palestinians near the Gaza boundary fence, to keep them from organizing cross-border attacks.
