Barack Obama’s strong showing in Tuesday’s primaries brings him closer to securing the Democratic nomination.
On Tuesday, Obama scored a resounding victory in North Carolinia and nearly pulled off an upset win in Indiana against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
The results, combined with conciliatory election night speeches from both candidates, left observers and some party insiders predicting that Obama was just a few weeks from wrapping up the race.
