A pregnant woman shot during an attack on the Seattle Jewish federation testified in court.
Dayna Klein was 17 weeks pregnant when she was shot after ignoring alleged gunman Naveed Haq’s orders not to call 911 after he opened fire on federation workers in July 2006. Haq allegedly shot Klein in the arm as she protected her pregnant belly.
Klein offered emotional testimony Monday, the last of five victims to testify in Haq’s trial.
One woman was killed and five injured in the shooting spree.
Haq is charged with one count of aggravated murder, five counts of attempted aggravated murder and violating the state’s hate-crime law, among other charges. He has pleaded guilty by reason of insanity.
