Twelve years after securing an exemption from military service, an Israeli diva got drafted.

Maya Buskila signed up Monday for a four-month stint in the Israel Defense Forces, with military officials saying she would be assigned to the Educational Corps and lecture troops on the importance of national service.

The 30-year-old singer avoided enlistment as a teenager, citing religious observance. That soon became a popular joke given her on-stage predilection for passionate love songs, skimpy clothes and busty gyrations.

Israel’s top brass has been cracking down on draft-dodgers since the 2006 Second Lebanon War. Some entertainers who never served in uniform have been barred from performing for soldiers.
