An Israeli teenager was wounded in what police suspect was a vigilante attack on a cult.
A 15-year-old resident of Ariel suffered serious injuries Thursday when he opened a package that had been left on his building’s stoop, and turned out to contain a small bomb.
Police ruled out Arab terrorism or a prank gone wrong, leaving the possibility that the package was sent by Jews opposed to Christian missionaries and cults.
According to police sources cited by Israeli media, the teenager’s building is home to a religious sect and was equipped by security cameras given earlier fears of attack. The reports did not say which religion the residents are believed to belong to.
