Twenty-four Israeli scientists were among 300 chosen to receive European Union research grants.
The Israeli scientists selected by the European Research Council through its first “Starting Independent Investigators” represent seven institutions. Seven are from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
Each of the winners, up-and-coming research leaders who earned their doctorates between two and nine years ago, will receive a grant of as much as $3.16 million over a period of up to five years.
