U.S. Sens. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and John McCain (R-Arizona) swept the so-called Chesapeake Primary on Tuesday.

Obama of Illinois followed up his victories over the weekend by scoring big wins in the Democratic primaries in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. Exit polls reportedly found that he outperformed his rival, U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), among almost all demographic groups.

On the Republican side, McCain swept the three primaries in beating back Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas.
