A car bomb killed a senior Lebanese intelligence official responsible for investigating recent bombings in Lebanon.
The blast, which struck mid-morning Friday, set a dozen vehicles on fire and killed Capt. Wissam Eid along with at least four other people, The Associated Press reported.
According to Lebanon’s sports minister, Ahmed Fatfat, Eid was on his way home from a meeting at the headquarters of the U.N. commission investigating the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
