Israeli forces killed six Palestinian militiamen in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli military aircraft bombed a Hamas position near the southern Gazan town of Khan Yunis early Saturday, killing five militiamen from the ruling Islamist group and wounding five others.
Later in the day, Israeli troops shot back after coming under fire from Palestinian gunmen near the northern Gaza border. A gunman was killed and three others wounded. Their affiliation was not immediately known.
At least one rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel on Saturday but caused no damage or casualties.
