An anti-Semitic slur was directed at Jewish students on a Brazilian university campus.

A spray-painted swastika and the phrase ‘Jews out’ were found Sunday on the Federal University of Rio de Grande do Sul campus Sunday.

The slur was spray-painted on a student elections poster for the only slate among four fielding Jewish candidates and against racial quotas. Elections in the university are scheduled for Nov. 20-22. According to Slate 3 members, other racist slurs had been found on the campus but were quickly removed.

The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul is home to some 12,000 Jews. It hosts a strong German presence and recently has seen several neo-Nazi attacks.
