A German synagogue was vandalized with swastikas and right-wing extremist slogans daubed in chocolate.
The brown graffiti – a color symbolic of Nazi uniforms – was written on an outside wall of the synagogue in Paderborn, a city of 142,000 in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, according to The Associated Press. Police reported that the incident must have taken place on the night of Sept. 12-13 and are seeking the vandals.
