Egyptian police killed a Sudanese refugee and seriously wounded four others as they tried to sneak over the border into Israel. An Egyptian police officer told the Associated Press that 22 other Africans were arrested Sunday along the desert border between Egypt and Israel.
Hundreds of Sudanese refugees escaping the violence in Darfur have crossed into Israel over the last few weeks via the state’s porous border with Egypt.
