Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the Gaza Strip over the weekend.
An Israel Air Force missile strike killed two Islamic Jihad men in the northern Gaza Strip shortly after two Kassam rockets fired from the strip struck the Israeli city of Sderot on Sunday, lightly wounding one woman and damaging a school.
Islamic Jihad, which took credit for the Kassam fire, said the two men targeted in the air strike were “on a holy mission” when an Israeli missile killed them. Israel’s military said it had struck a rocket launcher.
Late Saturday night, Israeli troops shot and killed two Hamas gunmen in the northern Gaza Strip.
Hamas said its men were trying to infiltrate Israel. The Israel Defense Forces said one of the men had tampered with the security fence separating the strip from Israel and fired on Israeli soldiers patrolling nearby. The soldiers returned fire, killing the two Hamas members.
