An Israeli husband-and-wife team took a top honor at the Cannes Film Festival.

“Jellyfish,” an Israeli-French co-production about the lives of three women in Tel Aviv, won the Camera d’Or for best debut film at Sunday’s closing ceremony of the prestigious festival.

“Jellyfish” was made by Shira Geffen, who comes from a well-known Israeli artistic family, and her husband, Etgar Keret, a satirical author of growing international renown. Earlier at Cannes, they were honored by the French Artists’ Association and they also won the festival’s Young Critics Award.

Another Israeli film, “The Band’s Visit,” won three minor prizes at Cannes.
