Sonia Peres, the wife of Israel’s vice premier, is gravely ill. Peres was hospitalized late Thursday with congestive heart failure caused by influenza. Her condition is not considered life-threatening. Unlike her husband, Shimon Peres, the 81-year-old Sonia has shunned the public eye.
