A Jewish cultural group in Spain is organizing a Jewish section at a major book exposition in Catalonia. Tarbut, a Leida-based organization whose objective is to circulate Jewish culture, will bring more than 300 titles with Jewish authors or that deal with Jewish subjects to the May 16-31 fair at the Leida public library. “The competition tries to capture the attention of the public in Leida and all people in the country interested in Jewish culture,” Tarbut President Silvia Schnessel said. She added that one of the organization’s objectives is to revive awareness of the Jewish role in the history of Spain and Catalonia.
