Ehud Olmert wants to add to his testimony before the Winograd commission on last summer’s Lebanon war. The commission’s interim report, delivered last month, was withering in its criticism of the Israeli prime minister, saying he was unprepared ahead of the war with Hezbollah and had pursued the war with recklessness. Olmert’s office said Thursday that he wants to counter testimony from Tzipi Livni, the foreign minister and a possible contender for prime minister, who said she counseled diplomacy instead of a full military onslaught. Olmert denies ever receiving such counsel.
