The Museum of the Jewish Diaspora in Tel Aviv is undergoing a $46 million renovation. The Israeli government is paying $10 million for the facelift to Beth Hatefutsoth, and the museum is looking for another $40 million from North America and elsewhere, museum officials said in a release. The project will include a renovation of the museum’s permanent exhibit, existing buildings and grounds and an expansion of the museum’s temporary exhibition capacity. Museum archives will be digitized, allowing visitors to search genealogical and photographic archives. The museum also has hired a new director general, Hasia Israeli.
