Israel’s attorney general postponed a decision about indicting Israeli President Moshe Katsav. A Wednesday hearing at the Justice Ministry on rape and breach of trust allegations against the suspended president was expected to produce a decision from Attorney General Menachem Mazuz. Instead, he ceded to Katsav’s attorneys, who argued that they needed more time to address the accusations against their client. They agreed to hold a second hearing in about two weeks. Katsav’s term ends in July. He is immune from prosecution as long as he is in office, but has vowed to step down if indicted.
