A monument to Isaac Babel will be erected in Odessa. Babel, a Jewish playwright and short story writer, was born and worked in the Black Sea
port city.
According to the Odessa City Council, the city department on architecture
and planning will soon announce a competition for the monument’s design and begin raising funds for the sculpture.
