The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill that funds the Iraq war but sets a 2008 deadline to withdraw troops. The bill passed Friday 218-212. It still must be considered by the U.S. Senate, and President Bush has suggested he will veto it. The Reform and Reconstructionist movements recently approved resolutions backing withdrawal timetables, reflecting majority American Jewish sentiment.
