B’Tselem said Israeli soldiers used an 11-year-old Palestinian girl as a “human shield” in the West Bank. Jihan Daadush told interviewers that soldiers came into her Nablus house, questioned her about militants who had shot at the army and then forced her to lead them to a nearby house to inspect for militants before returning her home. “[One of the soldiers] told me, ‘Thank you, but don’t tell anyone,’ ” the girl said, according to B’Tselem. “I am still afraid the soldiers will invade the city again and take me away.”

Israel bans the use of human shields; the Israeli army said it was looking into the matter. B’Tselem said that soldiers used other Palestinian civilians and shot a man on his rooftop during the five-day raid in Nablus that ended March 1.
