An Italian insurance company gave an extension for the filing of Holocaust-era claims. Assicurazioni Generali on Sunday allowed survivors and their heirs 18 additional months to uncover documentation on unpaid life insurance policies in recently opened Nazi archives in Bad Arolsen, Germany. Until recently the insurance giant was pushing for a settlement in U.S. federal court, but the court decided on Jan. 31 to withhold approval of the proposed settlement.
