JERUSALEM, March 11 (JTA) — Right-wing Jewish extremists distributed a pamphlet Wednesday justifying the killing of 29 Muslim worshipers at Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs four years ago. The pamphlet was titled, “Baruch, the Redeemer and Savior,” a reference to Dr. Baruch Goldstein, the Kiryat Arba settler who carried out the massacre before being beaten to death by survivors. The pamphlet was edited by Michael Ben Horin, who also authored a book on Goldstein, “Baruch, the Hero.” The book has been deemed racist by a Jerusalem court. Meretz Knesset member Ran Cohen — who has proposed legislation to move a shrine at Goldstein’s grave from Kiryat Arba, saying it has become a pilgrimage site for extreme right-wingers — called on the police commissioner and attorney general to look into the legality of the pamphlet.
