JERUSALEM, Dec. 18 (JTA) — An aspiring Israeli singer has accused Britain’s top pop group, the Spice Girls, of stealing one of her songs. Idit Shechtman, 19, who lives in Beersheba, said the group’s hit, “Say You’ll Be There” is similar to a song she wrote two years ago, “Come to Me.” Shechtman, who was interviewed by BBC and Sky Television this week, said a copy of the song could have been purchased in Israel and taken to England, where it could have been played in a few clubs and heard by the group.
