Brobdingnagian will shortly be releasing two new wines.

Brobdingnagian’s 2009 Sonoma County Syrah is a fruit-forward, full-bodied, dark garnet-colored wine, with a nose of cherries and black pepper, and whiffs of cedar, figs and espresso. Look for flavors of bing cherries, black pepper and allspice, with a note of crème de framboise. Ready to drink now, this powerful syrah should be able to cellar until 2014. Score A-

Brobdingnagian’s 2008 Besomin Cuvee Chabad Napa Valley Field Blend has a full body and an inky-garnet color. Look for flavors and aromas of cherries, cassis, and blackberries, with hints of violets, mint, eucalyptus, and chocolate. Drink now until 2016. Score B+

Shirah Wine Company plans to release its 2009 vintage in time for Passover. However it was not able to provide samples for tasting before the Kosher Wine Guide went to press. – G.K.
