During his recent visit to New York, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's delegation ordered Shabbat food from Brooklyn's Pomegranate whole foods supermarket, and the bill for the 10-person spread came to $1,800, according to published reports.

One of Netanyahu's aides told a store employee who would be eating the food and the news was leaked to a Jewish web site, JDN, and soon appeared in The Daily News and the Kings Courier, a Brooklyn weekly, generated substantial free buzz for the Coney Island Avenue supermarket.

The meal included traditional Shabbat foods such as kugel, chulent, gefilte fish and challah.

Israeli leaders traditionally eat kosher food when traveling abroad even if they don't generally observe kashrut.

No word on what kind of tip Bibi gave the delivery guy.
