Sadie Hawkins Chanukah Bash

Put on your best vintage date night outfit and head out to the dance – only this time girls make the first move. Ladies are setting the mood for this night by asking the guys out to the dance floor. Better yet, proceeds from the night are going to Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services, providing critical services to families in need. There will be an open bar and big band! The 8th Annual Sephardic Music Festival

The Sephardic Music Festival sets the tone for Hanukkah in New York City with five nights of live music featuring some of the most talented Jewish musicians from around the globe. The event begins at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn and ends at Le Poisson Rouge with must-see artists that will reignite your excitement for the holiday. Here’s a full schedule.
Hanukkah Champagne Brunch

Delancey to Doughnuts: Chanukah Walking Tour

Chanukah is the perfect time to be reminded of what being Jewish is all about: old synagogues and eat doughnuts. The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy is here to show you the way with a walking tour through the historic downtown neighborhood highlighting important locales – like the Streit’s Matzoh Factory, built in 1925, and family-run for five generations. Chanukah with Dr. Ruth

After your Jewish tour of the Lower East Side, head to the Upper West to celebrate Chanukah with Dr. Ruth as she narrates “The Chanukah Story.” She will be joined by The Western Wind, an a cappella music group, that will perform Yiddish, Ladino, Israeli and modern American tunes for the holiday. If you thought Jews can’t do gospel, you’ve never heard Joshua Nelson. Performing at the Metropolitan Synagogue, Nelson will showcase Jewish religious lyrics with the powerful sounds of American gospel music.
