If you don't have tickets for High Holy Day services this year, you're not alone. Luckily there are plenty of synagogues that welcome the unaffiliated with low-cost or even free services.
To help you sort out the options, there are several resources available:
NY Blueprint, our sister site, has a High Holiday Guide for Singles with in-depth descriptions of High Holiday services, dinners and other activities at four Manhattan congregations that are actively reaching out to the unaffiliated: Hineni, Congregation Sim Shalom, Manhattan Jewish Experience and Lab/Shul. While there, you can also search for other services in the events section.
Birthright Israel's Next Division has an interactive website open to all that gives information on services, dinners and other High Holiday events at more than 450 congregations and other organizations across the U.S. (including plenty in New York). You can search their interactive map by zip code, activity (service, dinner, break fast, etc.) synagogue type (Reform, Reconstructionist, Orthodox, Egalitarian, etc.) and other useful filters. The information pops up on an interactive map that includes ticket prices, contact information, service times and, often, in-depth information about the synagogue.
UJA Federation of New York will give you a list of congregations in New York City, Westchester and Long Island that welcome all to their High Holiday services, including ticket prices, contact information and service times. Fill out the form on their website and you'll be taken to a page that lists services closest to your zip code.
