I try to treat my colleagues with respect, but I resent being compared to a Toyota salesman and I strongly suspect that God may not be fond of being compared to a Chelm story (“Toyota, Auschwitz and Chelm,” Opinion, Rabbi Joshua Hammerman).
All rabbis deal with the Holocaust, each in their own way. The question of suffering has been with us since the Book of Job; the question of the meaning of life has been with us since the Book of Ecclesiastes (Kohelet). Rabbi Hammerman seems to think he is like the innocent child who proclaims that the emperor has no clothes.
I suggest that Rabbi Hammerman deal with the question of the Holocaust with humility.
If Rabbi Hammerman feels like a Toyota salesman, I recommend he find another job.
