The article, “Ryan Seen Harming Romney With Jews” (Aug. 17) makes no mention of the various official warnings of Medicare’s impending insolvency. These include the 2012 annual report of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare’s chief actuary, and the Social Security Advisory Council.
This omission allows the two reporters, Stewart Ain and Adam Dickter, to present any proposed changes in Medicare as “radical” and to mistakenly portray reform efforts as coming from fringe elements, rather than responsible members of Congress, such as Rep. Paul Ryan.
Here’s hoping that Jewish voters are not as oblivious to reality as these two reporters appear to be.
