Gary Rosenblatt tried his hardest to say something nice about President Obama for nearly two columns, then he couldn’t resist any longer and collapsed into the John McCain mindset of there never being a war he didn’t like (“How Obama Should Deal With Bullies,” March 28).
Obama was correct not to attack [Syrian leader Bashar] Assad, whose enemies are just as evil as he is. It is a civil war, and we don’t belong in them. As for Iran, the U.S. will stand behind Israel militarily if diplomacy fails and the Iranian nuclear ambitions reach the critical point.
The mark of a true leader is to know which battle to pick, not enter into every one, or as George W Bush did, the wrong ones.
