The Editorial (“Exposing The PLO In Court,” Feb. 27) doesn’t really distinguish between the Palestinian Authority then, under Yasir Arafat (who was complicit with terrorism), and the PA under Abbas, which has made efforts to combat terror groups.
Also, the fact that the terrorists were employees of the PA does not logically make it responsible (but it is true that their salaries should not have continued to be paid). So while this ruling may have some factual basis, it serves to undermine moderate Palestinians who would want to see a reasonable peace deal concluded with Israel, and reinforces hard-right views that “there is no Palestinian partner.”
