Gary Rosenblatt gives us the important information that American Jewish opposition to the Iran deal comes mainly from knowledgeable Jewish activists with ties to Israel (“Iran Deal Driving Jews Farther Apart,” Aug. 14).
They share the almost wall-to-wall opposition to the deal by Israelis, even the political left who agree with Netanyahu on practically nothing else. Rosenblatt also points out that the issue that binds American Jews is “the Holocaust as essential to their Jewishness.” This leaves me puzzled as to why American Jews do not overwhelmingly take seriously, as do the Israelis, the openly stated threats from Nazi-like Iran to exterminate the 6 million Jews of Israel by conventional missiles and nukes.
