How disturbing it is to see many of my friends and people that I thought to be intelligent openly endorse Donald Trump, or any Republican, who spews hate against women, the poor, immigrants and religious groups (“Jews For Trump,” July 22).
Trump is a misogynist who refuses to disengage from the likes of David Duke and Rev. Farrakhan. In a recent op-ed in The New York Times, major Republicans weighed in on their feelings for Trump. Mitt Romney was quoted as saying, “Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud.” Sen. Lindsay Graham: “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot.” And from Peter Wehner, an Evangelical Christian commentator: “A moral degenerate.”
Last but not least, the Daily Stormer, a white supremacist website, proclaimed: “God Bless This Man.”
I doubt this will persuade any of those who have already made up their minds to vote for Trump. It’s a good thing most Jewish voters live in the tri-state area, since Hillary Clinton undoubtedly will win these states.
