In “Who’s Right On The Iran Nuke Deal” (Oct. 7), JTA Washington correspondent Ron Kampeas omits reference to the following existential threats to Israel: Some parts of the deal only refer to existing known nuclear facilities, and don’t cover (a) now-unknown facilities or (b) new facilities not yet built.
Almost three weeks of advanced notice is required for surprise inspections of the Iran nuclear plant. Requests can be appealed and extended during the appeal process, and the U.S. is committed to protect Iranian nuclear facilities from attack.
Israel acknowledged that some of the objectives have been achieved in the short run, but shouldn’t we all care about the big picture in the long run?
